Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday asked authorities to expedite the execution of approved power projects in Nagpur and Amravati districts as demand for electricity is rising, driven by increased industrial, commercial activity and real estate expansion, reported news agency PTI.
Fadnavis, presiding over a meeting, directed officials to expedite work on approved power infrastructure projects (encompassing electricity generation, transmission, and distribution) in these districts in the Vidarbha region, said a release from the Chief Minister's Office (CMO), reported PTI.
He noted that Rs 713 crore will be required for Nagpur district and Rs 242 crore for Amravati to fulfil power sector needs, and budgetary provisions should be made accordingly.
