After receiving the complaint, the station manager immediately informed the Airport police station about the incident. “The woman alleged that the men misbehaved with her, and wanted the local police to handle them,” said an airport source. However, the detained trio was let off after the police officials rebuked them for their behaviour.

Speaking to mid-day, Senior Inspector B T Mukhedkar from Airport Police Station said, “One of the men was sleeping, when unintentionally his foot touched the lady passenger sitting in front of him. This led to an argument between the two.
The man received support from the other two passengers sitting besides him and the matter reached the police station. However, the trio was let off with a stern warning after the complainant decided to sort out the issue amicably.”

On August 12, a woman flier registered an FIR against a co-passenger for sexually assaulting her on a Delhi- Mumbai flight. The accused was identified as Narendra Nandal. In her complaint, the woman told the cops that Nandal not only groped her, but also passed lewd comments. “A case was registered against Nandal under Section 354A of the IPC,” said an official from the Airport police station.
