A raid has revealed that the girls are made to wear coordinated outfits, knowledge of which is relayed to their customers
Sex workers are now being provided predetermined ‘uniforms’, so their clients can identify them easily. The new modus operandi was revealed in course of a recent raid when the Juhu police, with the help of selected officers from Zone IX, raided a five-star hotel in the area and uncovered a prostitution racket. Two were arrested.

The raid took place on Saturday night when police officers sent a decoy to a the hotel. Two women were rescued by cops. When the two men who ran the business saw the police, they fled from the spot in a car — cops gave chase and arrested them.
The undercover cop had booked the hotel room for Rs 9,000.
The two arrested have been identified as Gopal Mandal (36) and Vicky alias Karan Milwani (35). The duo was produced in Bandra court and are now behind bars.
One of the rescued girls was a foreign national and was hired for Rs 20,000, while the other, an air hostess, was offered Rs 25,000. The gang members would ask the girls to don particular colours, and informed their clients of the same. Cops believe that the uniforms would make it easier for customers to recognise the girls, and helped the latter escape the notice of cops.
Police are now trying to trace more members of the racket so they can now rescue more girls.
Vicky is a resident of Versova, while Gopal lives at Mira Road. The two were running the racket together. Gopal has many similar cases pending against him, while Vicky is a school dropout who speaks fluent English and has many contacts, making it easy for him to lure girls and attract customers.
“After sending the dummy customer, we rescued two women and arrested two gang members in the case,” said deputy commissioner of police Pratap Dighavkar of Zone IX.
Cops called up numbers provided by the gang members on the internet and met with them in a Juhu café, where they were provided photographs of several sex workers with different ‘rates,’ ranging from Rs 20,000 to Rs 5 lakh. u00a0
