Don't have your voter identity card or a photo identity proof to vote?

The Election Commission (EC) will now allow citizens to vote if they carry their theiru00a0 ration cards.

Thus, if a voter does not have his voter ID, he will still be able to caste his vote.

The ration card is the only identity proof that doesn't have a photograph. Earlier there was confusion on the use of ration cards as an ID proof, as the EC was reconsidering their validity.

Seventeen seats from Maharashtra Lok Sabha will go to the polls tomorrow during the first phase of election.
