No hindola at ISKCON this year

On Janmashtami, thousands of Krishna devotees line up outside ISKCON'S Hare Rama Hare Krishna temple at Juhu every year. But this year's picture is a little different as the temple authorities have prohibited assembling in the temple premises.

Every year, ISKCON organises a ceremony in which an idol of Bal Krishna is placed in a hindola for devotees to worship. This year, however, the ceremony will not take place, thanks to the swine flu.

Also in Pune's ISKCON temple, 90,000 devotees will not be offerred prasad, as temple authorities fear the danger of it getting contaminated with H1N1 virus.
