Locals claim that not a single official has visited spot near Kalamboli junction where water pipeline burst more than a week ago, resulting in loss of hundreds of litres of potable water and waterlogging along junction
When this mid-day correspondent visited the spot, locals claimed that none of the City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra (CIDCO) authorities visited the area and tried to fix the pipeline. Moreover, the wastage of water has resulted in waterlogging along the junction.

‘On deaf ears’
Vinayak Kadam, a motorist, said, “I use the road frequently and was appalled to see that the authorities were least interested in repairing the pipeline, which has resulted in wastage of countless litres of potable water. I even informed officials at the nearby traffic police chowkie, thinking that they would inform the agency concerned. But nothing has been done till date.”
When contacted, CIDCO chairman Sanjay Bhatia said, “I will immediately inform the authorities concerned. They will look into the matter and ensure that the issue is resolved by Monday.” When questioned whether the water loss would impact the supply in Kalamboli, the official assured that the supply would remain unaffected.
