An 18-year-old student allegedly tried to commit suicide after she was caught cheating during an examination in Gorai on Wednesday. She has been admitted to the ICU of Saraswati Hospital and her condition is said to be critical.



According to sources, the girl was a second year student of Nalanda College. She was caught copying during an examination and was immediately removed from the class. Thereafter, she took sleeping pills and fell down while walking near RAC 21 Gorai sector number 2. The college authorities refused to comment on the matter.


Police says
A police officer said, “After receiving a call from Saraswati Hospital, our duty officer visited the hospital but as the girl was unconscious, her statement could not be recorded. We will talk to her after she regains consciousness and will take action accordingly.”
