Khan appeared at Rizwanullah's doorstep on the night of Sunday with all the contents of the bag intact. Says a touched Rizwanullah, who had not even realised that his bag was missing till Mushtaq brought it back, "I was humbled and speechless. The iPhone and laptop would cost $2,000 (Rs 1 lakh) approximately but it was the passport that was vital."
Since Rizwanullah returns to the US this Sunday, he knew that if he had misplaced his passport, "my entire holiday would have been spent running around trying to trace it or get replacement visas. With little to gain and a bag full of riches to lose, here was a man driven by his sense of decency and personal pride in doing what was right."
This heartwarming experience could well be called What they do not teach you at Harvard Business School. Khan, on his part, can't understand what the fuss is about. "When I checked the contents of the bag, I knew that more than money was at stake. I had to return the passport, phone and the laptop somehow.
