Miten (54) jumped from his ninth floor flat in Maker Towers' 'L' Wing at Cuffe Parade at 8 pm.
Miten, a diamond merchant,u00a0 was about to leave for the airport to return to Belgium, where he is based, when he committed suicide.
That evening, he put his bag in his car and then for some unfathomable reason returned to his flat. He sat in his house for a while and then committed suicide.
According to an officer from Cuffe Parade police station, Miten told Sushilaben, his mother, that he had changed his travel plans.

He then reportedly locked himself in the servant's room, before jumping to his death.
When Sushilaben came from her room to call Miten for prayers, she realised he was not in the house. She then asked the building's security guard to look for Miten and then his body was discovered.
