After weeks of speculation over reports he fathered a three-month-old child, Justin Bieber (in pic) has taken a paternity test to disprove the claims made by Mariah Yeater.
According to sources, the singer took the test at a lab under "very controlled circumstances".
And it is now Mariah's turn to provide a DNA sample from her son Tristyn to see whether the singer's DNA matches.
Last week, the 17-year-old's manager, Scooter Braun, said Justin was "ready to take a paternity test, at any moment", although he is not obligated.
His rep explained that he "doesn't mind" taking the test and just wants to "go ahead of it and be fine."
Although Yeater's lawsuit was dropped last week, her new team of lawyers says she still wanted to pursue her claim outside the courtroom.
One of lawyers, Chicago-based attorney Jeffrey M Leving, said he was negotiating with Bieber's counsel to reach a confidentiality agreement to get private testing and results.
Meanwhile, Bieber's team has already stated that they will "vigorously pursue all available legal remedies to protect Justin and to hold those involved with bringing this suit accountable for their actions."
