BMC to spend Rs 63 crore on resurfacing of roads over next seven months
According to the proposal, the BMC will resurface 33 roads in Andheri, Versova, Goregaon, Malad. Apart from this, it will also be resurfacing 113 roads in Kandivli, Borivli and Dahisar. "These roads do not need reconstruction, as they have minor issues like potholes, bad patches and washed out surfaces. Hence, we have asked contractors to resurface these roads with asphalt," said a senior civic official.
The contractors will be given a seven-month deadline. "We are hoping to start work before monsoon. These road repairs are part of civic body's priority list-3," the official said. BMC's priority list-3 includes roads that are not in very bad condition, but need resurfacing. Under priority list-3, the civic body is taking up resurfacing of 93.98 kilometres of road across the city, which also includes repairs of 53 junctions.
