<p>A Thane court on Monday sentenced a man from Vikramgad in Palghar to life imprisonment for killing his live-in partner, an official said.</p>
<p>Additional Sessions Judge RV Tamhanekar also fined Ramu Devji Shedad Rs 1,000, said Additional Public Prosecutor Sandhya Harishchandra Mhatre.</p>
<p>Thirteen witnesses were examined while the only eye witness died before the start of trial, he added.</p>
<p>Shedad (51) used to assault his live-in partner Sumitra Dhangde (45) frequently over trivial matters and killed her with an axe at her brother's place on March 28, 2019.</p>
