The Borivali police have arrested a 40-year-old woman for allegedly cheating a tuition teacher and her relative of Rs 2.65 lakh by promising a teaching job and school admissions for their children in a reputed institution.
According to the police sources, the complainant, a 30-year-old victim, used to tutor the accused’s 10-year-old daughter. During this period, the accused, identified as Karishma Jitesh Mehta, allegedly introduced herself as a ‘freelance BMC agent’ and offered the victim a job in a Borivali-based reputed school. The accused also assured admission for the victim’s seven-year-old son.
