A 30-year-old man’s attempt to kill his girlfriend by setting her on fire backfired terribly when the woman suddenly rushed towards him and held on to him tightly while on fire, leading to the man’s death. The woman’s condition is critical, as she is currently undergoing treatment for the 80 per cent burns she received in the incident. The macabre scene played out while the accused was standing at the door of the victim’s house at Jogeshwari East in Gandhi Nagar and watching her scream for help, while she burned.
