In a major anti-narcotics operation, officers from the Airport Commissionerate, Mumbai Customs Zone-III, seized 8.012 kg of suspected hydroponic marijuana valued at approximately Rs 8 crore during multiple operations conducted at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) between July 29 and 30, according to an official statement.

The seizures were made in four separate cases, leading to the arrest of four passengers. The action was based on specific intelligence inputs, the release noted, as per the news agency ANI.

Upon checking their baggage, authorities found 1.990 kg of suspected hydroponic weed, concealed in vacuum-sealed black and transparent plastic packets hidden inside their trolley bags. The seized narcotics are estimated to be worth around Rs 2 crore in the illicit market.
