Listen to this article :

Q. I am 47 years old. 2 years back I got prostate operation done. After which, I am experiencing difficulty in sex. It is not as it used to be. Is this because of the operation?
— Feeling Low
A. Usually if prostate operation is done properly by a Trans Urethral Route (TUR), then sexual performance would be the same as before. His desire, quality of erection, ability to sustain and pleasure at the time of orgasm remains unchanged. However, after orgasm, the ejaculation may not be outside but will be retrograde i.e. in the urinary bladder. This is because of bladderneck disturbance.

Q. I am 28 years old and I want my sex life to be always healthy. What should I do?
— Healthy
A. 3 small S’s i.e. Stress, Smoking and Scotch are not good for the big S i.e. Sex! It is also advisable to go easy on foods rich in high blood Fats (Cholesterol, triglycerides etc) because they lead to thickening of the blood and narrowing of the blood vessels which can hamper the flow of blood into private parts, which in turn may lead to erectile dysfunction. Balanced diet, maintaining fitness and yoga can also take you a long way.
