What happens when a carefree young man takes a cue from Vallabhbhai Patel's Bardoli Satyagraha and aims to repeat history? Watch what ensues on stage with the new play, Postcards from Bardoli
In the post-Independent era, several non-violent, revolutionary movements such as the Dandi March and the Bardoli Satyagraha helped abolish discriminatory laws laid down by the British. While the former was led by Mahatma Gandhi, the latter was by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel to help the drought-stricken farmers of Bardoli, Gujarat; against the increase of land tax rates imposed on them by the British India government. This successful agitation, led by Vallabhbhai Patel, earned him the title, Sardar in 1928.
