Maharashtra cop donates liver to save critically-ill younger brother

The 38-year-old younger brother was battling acute-on-chronic liver failure and was brought to the hospital in a critical state. He was deeply jaundiced, required blood pressure support, and was in urgent need of a liver transplant to survive

In a deeply moving story of brotherhood and bravery, a Maharashtra Police officer donated a part of his liver to save his younger brother’s life in Mumbai. 

The successful liver transplant was carried out by Dr. Swapnil Sharma, consultant – Liver Transplant and Gastrointestinal Surgeon at Wockhardt Hospitals, Mumbai Central.
