The protestors included students and teachers from various other institutions associated with All India Students Association (ASIA), Students Islamic Organisation (SIO) and Jamia Teachers Solidarity Association (JTSA). Besides, several social and religious organisations also gave voice to the protest, like the All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat (AIMMM), Jamaat-e-islami Hind (JIH), Asian People's Solidarity for Palestinian (APSP), Association for the protection of Civil Rights (APCR) and Delhi Malyali Halqa. It is just a barbaric regime. People in the country cannot let it go on for even a single day more. Mubarak should just step down immediately, said Harish Chowdhry, professor, Zakir Hussain College, DU. Also the protestors submitted a five-point memo to the Ambassador of Egypt in India asking for immediate ouster of the oppressive dictator-violator of human rights, Mubarak, restoration of normalcy and freedom for people who were put in prison for raising their voice against the government.u00a0u00a0 It is a complete dictatorial rule. There has not been rule of law for 30 years in Egypt. The fact that there is not a single candidate in opposition in the elections is reflective of the oppression and the closed system there, said Dr. Zafrul Islam Khan, Acting President, AIMMM and Editor, Milli Gazette. The Arab world has found a voice against suppression. People yearn for freedom from tyranny and end of intervention of America in their land. Their revolt has taken ground and soon they will find justice as well, he added. Student leaders also condemned the Indian Government for not taking a stand on the issue.u00a0 Why is the Indian government not clearing its stand on the matter. It is about world democracy and rights of people at the very base of life. Why is the government sitting idle on the issue? Is it afraid of great America or Israel as Mubarak is their puppet? asked Sucheta, student leader, JNU. Dr Simi Malhotra, teacher and media coordinator of Jamia, also condemned Mubarak's dictatorship rule. There have been revolutions in history that have brought people their life and freedom. This is one such. All the nations in the world should join in their cause, she said.
