Boarding pass invitations, animated Rakhis and personalised stickers are some of the offerings from Advika Designs

When Ambika Gupta went on a vacation to Thailand she spent most of her holiday working away on her laptop, filing away inspiring designs. Gupta started customising stationery during her student years with her mother guiding her. Playing around with paper craft, she would fashion personalised notepads, stickers, book labels and envelopes. She even designed her sister's wedding card by herself and realised her love for craft. After graduating in Economics, she pursued a designing course from the Wigan & Leigh College, honed her skills and started Advika Designs.


Baby shower invite

"I was sitting at a book store, hunting for names and I came across a book of A-Z baby names. The name Advika (which means unique) stuck to my mind and after reading the entire book, I zeroed in on the name," says Gupta.


Birthday party invite

Advika Designs offers children's stationery including gift tags, stickers, notepads, photo albums, rakhis, 3D / musical cards, bags, as well as baby shower invites. They also organise theme parties for which they make interesting invitations (such as a boarding pass invitation or a princess themed invitation with a tiara).
Initially a one-woman team, Ambika now works with a team of five people (including two designers). Her products are a mix of printing styles including digital, screen and offset printing, and Ambika says that the team undertakes research and development constantly to keep track of the latest trends and designs. They also visit various markets to source raw materials such as wood and paper.
