The bhelpuri joint owned by Sunil Sethi (52) sees a heavy rush from students of Miranda House, Shri Ram College of Commerce, St Stephen's and Hansraj College. The two-decade old joint is frequented by other people too owing to its strategic location near Vishwavidyala metro station. The stall opens at noon and closes at 7.30 in the evening. Sethi informs that he sells about 100 plates a day. "Old customers form a heavy chunk of my business. They get the bhelpuri packed in huge quantities," says Sethi. Dr Vimla, ex-student of Hindu College, has been a fan of his bhelpuri for a long time now. "I'm coming here since 1992. During my college days this was our hangout joint and now I find excuses to come here at least thrice a week."

Dil chole-chole ho gaya
"Bachpan se jawani aur jawani se budhapa chole-kulche banate nikal gaya," says Tarachand. He has been selling chole kulche near Faculty of Arts ever since he was a teenager. Starting from the price of 60 paisa a plate, one plate now costs Rs 12 with generous quantities of helpings.u00a0 Students from Daulat Ram, Kirori Mal and Arts Faculty have a gala time as they munch away the fried north Indian delicacy.
Jhanvi Sreedhar from Daulat Ram said, "His chole kulche are cheap, filling and tastier than the other joints around and I come here everyday after morning classes.'

If food from the Northeastern states give you a kick, then Mangal Lama's 'Momos' is the place to be. With sweet and spicy tomato chutneys, Lama sells three varieties of momos -- veg, non-veg and paneer.
"I sell about 90 plates of momos a day and vegetarian momos are sold in largest numbers! Most of the sales
happen around lunch time when students come out for a break," says Mangal. Girls from IP College frequent this joint in spite of it being far from their college.

Akhtar Ali (55) has being quenching people's thirst for the past four decades. 'Yahan ke English professor jab student the, tab se hamare customer hain,' he says fondly. Working from the age of 10 he sells around 100 glasses of banta each day.

Tom Uncle
When it comes to the most popular food among people of all age groups, Maggie wins the battle hands down and Uncle Tony is ready to serve you a slurpy dish with a smile. His speciality -- Maggie in three different flavours -- cheese-butter, onion-tomato and masala. But uncle keeps updating his menu according to popular demand and lately, has started selling pasta too. He's been around DU for 23 years and his stall has moved from outside gates of colleges like Khalsa and Miranda to Daulat Ram now, selling noodles along with lemon soda.

Frothy Greatness
When the rising mercury takes a toll, students of Venky, Ram Lal Anand, Motilal and Atma Ram Sanatan Dharm (ARSD) College head towards Keventer's owned by Gaurav Datta to cool themselves off. The owner sells about 50 bottles of cold coffee per day. Gaurav Chowdhary, a student of ARSD says: "I often come here to have cold coffee as the prices are affordable and the quantity is good." Tanushree from Motilal College says, "Whenever college gets over, we come here to have shakes. Besides it's a nice place to hang out."

The place QD's is known to all the students of North and South campus for its downright delicious lip-smacking tandoori momos. The shop's ambience is vibrant with posters of rock stars plastered over the walls and rock music playing in the background. The momos are crispy but not fried and served hot. The shop owner Mandeep Singh says: "We have another outlet in Kamla Nagar. Over a short span of three years, the outlet has gained a lot of popularity among youngsters. Our most famous dish is tandoori momos which is a hot favourite." Ekta Kaur, ex-student of Venkateshwaru00a0 College says: "It's one of my favourite places to indulge in gluttony. Even after the college is over, I come here from Greater Kailash to have their momos."

If you want to go Oriental for a day and are low on budget, pay a visit to Golden Fiesta. Shiv Verma, who works at the stall says: "It is not only students, but their parents also who come to our stall. The rush is especially more these days as the admission process is on."
