Among all Indian cities, Mumbai has been crowned as the top Indian city for food in the ‘100 Best Food Cities in the World’ report released by TasteAtlas earlier this week.

Sitting at number five after the four Italian cities Naples, Milan, Bologna and Florence, it is the only Indian city in the top 10 with the others being Rome, Paris, Vienna, Turin and Osaka.

On the other hand, the other Indian cities in the top 50 include Amritsar at 43, New Delhi at 45, and Hyderabad at 50; Kolkata at 71 and Chennai at 75 complete the list of six Indian cities that feature in the top 100.

Among many food rivalries within the country, the Maximum City has beat the capital. It may make many people disagree but while the debate is going to be never-ending, Indians can be proud that the list features a city from almost every part of the country.
