Lisa Mishra, known first as a musician, has successfully transitioned into acting with Call Me Bae and The Royals. She credits the shows for changing perceptions and opening new opportunities with casting directors

She is a successful musician, and transitioning into acting, while not an easy journey, is something Lisa Mishra has strived for. After her stint in Call Me Bae (2024), where she made her debut as both actor and composer while crooning two numbers, she was seen in Netflix’s The Royals. She is grateful for the love and acceptance she has received from Indian audiences as she balances her career in music and acting. Now, Mishra is all set to kickstart the second season of the Ananya Panday-starrer Call Me Bae, and The Royals 2, which has been officially announced.
“These shows have changed the way people see me. For the longest time, I was only thought of as a musician. Now, casting directors are calling me in because they’ve seen what I can bring to a character. What’s been most rewarding is the support I’ve felt through the transition,” Mishra explains. While most actors often get stereotyped, she has been “fortunate to work with directors and co-actors who encouraged me to trust my instincts.”
