Anil Kapoor and Vijay Varma in Family Business
Netflix’s upcoming corporate drama Family Business, announced as part of the Next On Netflix 2026 India slate, has drawn early comparisons with global hits like Succession and Billions. Director and co-creator Hansal Mehta has dismissed the chatter, calling such parallels “lazy comparisons,” and clarifying that a corporate backdrop doesn’t make every story a remake. The series stars Anil Kapoor and Vijay Varma in the lead bringing the talented actors together on screen for the first time.
Talking about the comparisons with Succession, Mehta emphasized that Family Business is a wholly original Indian series, rooted in real corporate battles and family dynamics unique to the country’s socio-cultural and economic fabric. While he admires international shows in the genre, he stressed that the Netflix series has its own voice and identity and stands firmly on its own.
