CID is an iconic television show that first aired in 1998. After a successful run spanning over two decades, the show went off air in 2018. However, it recently made a stellar comeback with the OG cast, including actors Shivaji Satam, Dayanand Shetty, and Aditya Shrivastava, returning for a new season of the investigative mystery drama. Not just that, the series was also made available on Netflix. But a recent plot twist has left longtime fans heartbroken.
Over the past few weeks, CID has seen several dramatic turns—from ACP Pradyuman being presumed dead by villain Barboza to actor Parth Samthaan stepping in as the new ACP. However, ACP Pradyuman made a surprise return and revealed that there was a gaddar (traitor) in the CID team. Upon his return, he thanked Ayushmann for managing the unit in his absence. Before leaving, Ayushmann asked ACP Pradyuman about the traitor’s identity. Pradyuman then revealed that it was forensic expert Dr. Salunkhe, played by Narendra Gupta.
Dr. Salunkhe admitted to the betrayal, stating that he felt sidelined as others took credit for the cases he helped solve. As a result, Dr. Salunkhe was shown being put behind bars—indicating the end of his character`s journey on the show.
