An actor’s shelf life can be precarious if they are not working — either on a project or themselves. After nearly 26 years in the industry, few understand this better than Shakti Anand, who made his debut on Indian TV with Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Thi (2000). Now, the actor is on double duty with his latest show Mahadev and Sons and Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Thi 2 (2025). Initially averse to social media, Anand chose to evolve with time. He believes that he has made it because producers are still ready to put money on him.
“I’m proud that I survived. When I entered the industry, [everyone] scared me. I survived because of TV. So, I think survival has been [important]. If people are still making reels of me or watching my shows, and producers are ready to put money on me as a main lead, [it makes me] proud to be here,” reflects the actor.
