On Wednesday, actor and producer Kamal Haasan took to social media to announce his next production under the banner of Raajkamal Films International. He revealed that superstar Rajinikanth will headline the project. The announcement comes amid buzz of Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan reuniting on the big screen after over four decades. However, there is no confirmation on Haasan acting in his next production. 

Kamal Haasan to back Rajinikanth-starrer

Making the announcement of their next production, Raajkamal Films International wrote, "This landmark collaboration not only unites two towering forces of Indian cinema but also celebrates five decades of friendship and brotherhood between Superstar Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan — a bond that continues to inspire generations of artists and audiences alike. Mahendran. Thalaivar173 is slated for a grand theatrical release through Red Giant Movies during Pongal 2027."
