Soundarya Rajinikanth apologises to Dhanush fans as 'VIP 2' gets delayed

The release of Kajol's Tamil outing, Velai Illa Pattadhari 2 (VIP 2) has been postponed. The film was slated to release on July 28 as a birthday gift for co-star Dhanush.

Yesterday, director Soundarya Rajinikanth tweeted, "I extend my regrets to inform Dhanush fans and cinema lovers that VIP2's release is being pushed to the first half of August due to inevitable reasons. Will announce the confirmed release date soon (sic)."

Dhanush was tied up with his Hollywood film, The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir. He wrapped up the shoot on Wednesday in Paris. Buzz is that the film's edit needs a recheck.
