Will.i.am, Spears’ new single
Worth your time: NO

Barely halfway through Mind your business, one can’t help but wonder how Will.i.am and Britney Spears, the duo that presented the widely successful 2012 track Scream and shout, missed the mark by such a long shot. While Scream and shout was unfailingly addictive, 'Mind your business' appears to be the kind of number listeners would hope to just get done with. It’s unbearable.

With lyrics that appear rather nonsensical, this iterative loop of a song has a melody that isn’t even remotely appealing. While the usage of repetitive melody and lyrics has long been known to scientifically enhance likability, the duo appears to have failed to appropriately exploit this format.
