Days after actress Ruby Rose made shocking claims against Katy Perry, accusing her of sexual assault, a police investigation is now underway in Australia. Ruby accused Katy of sexually assaulting her more than ten years ago at a Melbourne nightclub. The investigation comes after the pop star has denied the allegations, calling them "reckless lies.”

The Victoria Police confirmed investigating the matter via a statement to Variety, which read, “Melbourne sexual offences and child abuse investigation team (SOCIT) detectives are investigating (an alleged) historical sexual assault that occurred in Melbourne in 2010. Police have been told the incident occurred at a licensed premises in Melbourne’s CBD. As the investigation remains ongoing, it would be inappropriate to comment further at this stage.”
