Pale-skinned? No problem

Nicole Kidman has admitted that pale complexion helped build her "inner life".

The actress lived in Sydney during her formative years and owing to her fair skin and the country's intense heat, she often sheltered herself indoors, where she spent time reading.

She recalled, "As I was pale-skinned, I had to stay indoors; I couldn't be running around on the beach with friends. But the benefit was that I was reading books, building my inner life and concocting ideas in my head."
