Los Angeles: The makers of the biographical war drama film 'American Sniper' omitted the final scene showing Navy SEAL sniper Chris Kyle's death after the soldier's widow urged them to do so.

The screenwriter of the film, Jason Hall, has revealed that he wrote five scenarios on how to film the scene, but the producers eventually decided not to use them following a request by Taya, Kyle's widow, reports nydailynews.com.

"Five days after Chris was murdered, (Taya) called and said, 'This is going to be how my children remember their father, so I want you to get right'," Hall said.

"In the end, I think we felt that this was a film about Chris's life and not about his death. We also wanted to be careful not to glorify the guy who did it," he added.

Actor Bradley Cooper played the role of Kyle in the film, directed by Clint Eastwood.

Ultimately, the makers heeded Taya's wishes. The end of the movie just depicts Cooper arriving at the Rough Creek Lodge rifle range.

"In the end, I think we felt that this was a film about Chris' life and not about his death. We also wanted to be careful not to glorify the guy who did it," Hall added.

The film is nominated in multiple categories at the forthcoming 87th Academy Awards -- which will be aired Feb 22 -- including Best Picture and Best Actor for Cooper.
