Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma warned against circulating AI-generated images after fake photos related to Zubeen Garg’s death went viral. Assam CID confirmed strict legal action against offenders

Zubeen Garg
Zubeen Garg's untimely demise left everyone in shock. The renowned singer breathed his last on September 19 in Singapore. While an intense probe is underway into his death case, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma issued a strict warning against the circulation of AI-generated images aimed at misleading people. His remarks came after the Assam Criminal Investigation Department (CID) warned of legal action.
The CM’s warning came after an image went viral on social media showing Mahanta and Sharma smiling despite being arrested. “Some people have been seen spreading misinformation and abusing Zubeen Garg’s sudden death for political gain. Some are trying to disturb Assam with photoshopped images to defame the Assam government. These individuals are definitely not true fans of Zubeen Garg — they are somewhat criminals," Himanta Sarma said in a post on Facebook.
