YRF’s War 2 was among the most anticipated films of the year and opened strong with over Rs 50 crore on its first day. Starring Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani, the Ayan Mukerji directorial released on August 14 alongside Rajinikanth’s Coolie. While the film performed well on its opening two days, it began seeing a decline due to mixed reviews and negative word of mouth.

War 2 sees a massive dip

War 2 collected Rs 174.75 crore in its extended opening weekend. However, its first Monday witnessed a steep fall, with the film earning just Rs 8.5 crore net—marking a 76% drop from Sunday’s Rs 32.15 crore. The film had already shown signs of struggle on Saturday and Sunday, with no significant growth despite the holiday advantage.

The movie’s total India collection after five days stands at Rs 183.25 crore. While it has crossed Rs 200 crore gross worldwide in three days, it remains far from its massive Rs 400 crore budget.
