Vicky stated that he met Katrina during an award presentation, and Sunil Grover introduced them backstage. They later met again at an award event, and as part of the joke, Vicky proposed to Katrina onstage. Vicky Kaushal added that Katrina will always be a bigger star than him.

Vicky Kaushal revealed, "The first time I met her was at an award show, which I was hosting, and she was a guest there. I performed ‘Chikni Chameli’ with her on stage, and in fact, I met her first on this stage only, and then we went backstage with Sunil Grover. This was the time when Sunil Grover and Katrina had worked together in Bharat, and they were friends with each other."
