Urmila Matondkar running on the beach in an oversized white ganji. Or dancing on the streets of Mumbai with abandon, as others join in. Some images of Rangeela (1995) remain iconic even today, 30 years after its release. “It’s thrilling because it shows that people never forget such timeless movies,” says Matondkar of the film that has been restored by Ultra Media and is re-releasing today.
