Dilip Kumar was admitted to Hinduja Hospital, Khar, on Sunday morning after he complained of breathlessness. The thespian, 98, is currently under the care of a team of senior doctors, including cardiologist Dr Nitin Gokhale.

When mid-day reached out to wife Saira Banu, she said, “We are having some routine tests done. We are examining why he got breathless and had a mild fever. He had been a little unwell over the past couple of days. So, we got him admitted to the non-COVID hospital. [The doctors] are doing X-rays, blood tests and other tests under the guidance of Dr Nitin Gokhale. We would like all of you to pray for his well-being and better health.” Good wishes poured in for the veteran as Ayushmann Khurrana, Manoj Bajpayee and Urmila Matondkar prayed for his speedy recovery. NCP chief Sharad Pawar visited Kumar at the hospital. In the evening, the actor’s verified Twitter account posted a health update that read, “Saab is stable... As per doctors, he should be home in 2-3 days. Insh’Allah.”

The thespian was admitted to the hospital last month as well for his regular health check-up and was discharged two days later.
