Another point of backlash was the lack of chemistry between the lead pair on screen and their age gap. Months after its release, Rashmika has now reflected on her decision to sign the film. She revealed that the story narrated to her was different and was changed significantly over the course of filming.

Rashmika Mandanna reveals Sikandar was changed

During a conversation with Telugu journalist Prema, Rashmika recollected her decision to take up Sikandar. She suggested that the film eventually took a completely different route from what was described to her during the narration. “Sikandar, I remember talking to Murugadoss sir, ofcourse later what happened was very different… But when I heard the script, it was indeed quite a different script,” the Mysaa actress said.
