Filmmaker Laxman Utekar, fresh off the success of Chhaava, is preparing another period drama rooted in Maharashtrian history, with Shraddha Kapoor cast in the lead. We have learnt that the project’s working title is Ita, and it will will see Shraddha portray a trained classical dancer. Reports suggesting she has begun preparations through intensive workshops to refine her skills. Industry insiders indicate the film will highlight an important female figure from Maharashtra’s past, aiming to showcase the region’s cultural legacy on a national scale. Mounted on an ambitious budget, the film is expected to go on floors this November, targeting a late 2026 release.
