‘Ghajini’ with Salman in lead

Producer Boney Kapoor has revealed that he once planned to make Ghajini (2008) with Salman Khan in the lead after watching the original Tamil film starring Suriya. Speaking to Rediff, Boney said Salman’s look in Tere Naam (2003) convinced him he was ideal for the role. “With his chiselled physique and his hair pruned, he would be a perfect fit for Suriya’s role,” he said. Recalling how the project slipped away, he added, “For almost six months, Madhu Mantena kept assuring me, ‘Ho jayega.’ When Aamir finally consented, they decided to produce the film themselves, and I lost out.”
