Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar has been in the news for several reasons. While a section of the audience, critics, and filmmakers are praising its cinematic brilliance, others are pointing out the politics shown in the film. The film even offended the Baloch community after a dialogue by Sanjay Dutt portrayed them in a negative light. The Gujarat High Court, on January 9, 2026, disposed of the petition.

The controversial dialogue is delivered by Sanjay Dutt, who portrays SP Chaudhary Aslam in Dhurandhar. The dialogue goes, “Magarmachh pe bharosa kar sakte hai, par Baloch pe nahi” (You can trust a crocodile, but not a Baloch). It was flagged by members of the Baloch community as hate speech that unfairly stereotypes and targets them. They argued that the film’s dialogue depicted Baloch people as untrustworthy, which they claimed was offensive and hurt their community’s dignity.
