The stage is set for one of the biggest box office clashes of the year- War 2 and Coolie. While both films cater to audiences of different languages, the battle to get maximum screens is ongoing. War 2 stars Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR in the lead, while Coolie marks the collaboration between Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj, along with cameos by Aamir Khan and Nagarjuna. Earlier, it was reported that Aamir Khan had intervened in the distribution of Coolie to ensure it gets maximum screens across the country.

Aamir Khan's team issues clarification

However, Aamir Khan’s team has now dismissed reports of the superstar’s involvement in the distribution of the Rajinikanth-starrer. His team said that he has done the cameo out of goodwill and respect for the makers.

A spokesperson of Aamir Khan Productions clarified, “Neither Aamir Khan nor anyone from his team is involved in the distribution of Coolie. Mr. Khan has not made any calls to any exhibitor or distributor. His cameo in the film is purely a gesture of his bond with director Lokesh Kanagaraj and Rajinikanth. Everyone at AKP, especially Aamir Khan, is thrilled with the success of Sitaare Zameen Par’s YouTube release and is overjoyed with the response it has received.”
