Sharman Joshi loses weight for his film with Rekha

Sharman Joshi has lost it! The actor has knocked off over 10 kilos he had piled on for his role in Ferrari Ki Sawari, which released last year.

The actor says, “As I was playing father to a young boy they wanted me to gain some weight for the character. After the film released in June, I have been working out regularly. In the last six months I have managed to shed all the kilos I had gained.”

He is presently shooting for Indra Kumar’s film with Rekha and Shweta Kumar (Indra’s daughter who had made her debut with Himesh Reshammiya in the 2008 film Karzz). “We have already had a schedule in Mumbai. Rekhaji essays my grandmother’s role. It’s amazing working with her.”


There has been buzz about him doing a film with Vicky Donor actress Yaami Gautam as reported ‘Yaami signs film opposite Sharman’ (Hitlist, January 26). The actor however maintains, “I am looking at a couple of other projects but it is too early to talk about it at this juncture.”

About his long in the planning project with Tanuja Chandra to be produced by her brother-in-law Vidhu Vinod Chopra, he says, “The film has got delayed. We were to start late last year.”
