Picks up boxing skills for his role in upcoming film, trains with former national coach
Randeep Hooda has recently developed a passion for boxing. The actor plays a small town boxer in the upcoming film Bhiwani, written by Abhishek Chaubey and directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia and so, is training with Chiranjeevi, a former coach of the national boxing squad.
Randeep is known for his love for horse riding. A professional rider, he's also participated in numerous tournaments and owns two racehorses. While horse-riding is his first love, the actor has picked up a fondness for pugilism while training for this film. Set in the town of Bhiwani, it chronicles the rise of a local boxing champion played by the actor.
He says, "I have been learning boxing for the last eight months. It's an intense role and I need to do it well. Chiranjeevi has been training me effortlessly. Apart from boxing I've also learnt a lot about life from him. I call him the Zen Master."
Boxing in school
Hooda says that he used to participate in inter-school boxing competitions. "I have always been attracted to sports and athletics. Also, I am a huge fan of boxing movies, so it's always been something I wanted to do." He reveals heu00a0 has been training at the Sports Academy in Pune. "It's a great place and provides all the necessary tools to learn the game," he says.
