Pankaj, the hot shot

There seem to be many gold diggers pursuing him ever since he bagged a gold medal at the Asian Games. And while he is still inundated with congratulatory calls, smses and messages on networking sites from female fans, this eligible bachelor just laughs off all the attention. Snooker player Pankaj Advani talks to CS about crazy fan experiences and dispels rumours about acting in a Hollywood film (at least for now):

Who: Pankaj Advani
What: Talks about his female following

Striking gold
Winning a gold in the Asian Games has been one of the most important moments of my life. And it feels great to be appreciated by everyone too. At the end of the day, my game is my identity and it is tough to imagine myself doing anything else.

There have been talks of me starring in an upcoming Hollywood film, but nothing really has materialised yet. So you're not going to see me on the big screen anytime soon. For now, I'm happy playing snooker, and yes, I'm looking forward to joining a dance class too. I can shake a leg and I enjoy dancing so I thought that I would enroll myself in a class. But don't jump the gun, I'm not learning the moves so that I can land myself a role in a Bollywood flick.

Message in a title
Yes, like any other sportsman, I too have quite a female fan following. When I got back from China in 2003, after winning the World Snooker Championship, my mom found a small piece of paper that said 'I love you and I miss you'. She was, needless to say, scandalised! It was from a female fan who also happened to be an interpreter for me. I had to explain to my mother that it was only a title I brought back home and not a daughter-in-law.

My girl
If I'm in a relationship, I won't be the type to kiss and tell. But anyway, at the moment, my schedule is so packed that even if I did have a girlfriend, she would have to be a very patient woman.

And that's one quality that does appeal to me in women. Apart from that, my Miss Right should be someone who understands the requirements of a sportspersonu00a0-- gives me my space, encouragement and is non-judgmental. Enjoying sports would obviously be a bonus!
