According to the grapevine, the actor's western appeal was not apt for the character and so he hired a Marathi tutor to get his accent right.

The flick 'Shootout at Wadala' is written and directed by Sanjay Gupta. It is the sequel to the 2007 film 'Shootout at Lokhandwala'.
