A new chapter
It's very important for the women in our society to know their rights and to stand up for themselves without being suppressed.
It's a sure sign of progress and movement in the right direction. The cause of educating the girl child is very important to me because I have seen the hardships that women undergo for basic survival in India and how the society pressurises them to be homebound.
They need to be liberated and feel free to make their own decisions. This will only happen when they are encouraged to study and educate themselves.

More power
Education is very important for us to become a super power. This is true of every country, including Sri Lanka where I hail from. As a people, we have seen difficult times.
Women there finally feel free today and have attained their rights. Now the country is shaping up and is said to be the next business hub. It's growing and expanding and doing well. It is literacy that can transform us from being a third world country into a superpower.
Child's play
Children have a right to education and together we should discourage child labour. Even if we find it hard to make a difference in our own small way, we can at least support NGOs that work for the cause of children. After all, they're the future of our country.
