Actor Imran Khan says he was not confident and doubted himself while shooting for Vishal Bhardwaj's forthcoming film "Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola".
"I was very scared while working in the movie. Many times I thought I could not do it, but Vishal sir showed faith in me. In my opinion, every artist should be afraid when he faces something new," Imran said here Tuesday.
"Matru..." also features veteran actor Pankaj Kapur, whose presence inspired Imran to perform better.
"It was intimidating in terms of thought. (But) I am grateful that I had someone like Pankaj sir in front of me. It made me want to perform better," said the actor, who made his debut with "Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na".
"Matru..." is a political satire based on the issue of land scam. It also features Anushka Sharma and Shabana Azmi.
