Getting weird with Big B's beard

Balki and RGV make Bachchan Sr get rid of face fuzz, and then grow it back

The Big Busy B is stuggling with the quirky demands of his current directors, Balki (Pa) and Ram Gopal Varma (Rann).

His face fuzz has been making on-off appearances as he shoots for the two films at the same venue (Film City).

Co-ordinated

Interestingly, both the directors are tight-lipped about the facial requirements of the Big B's characters.

But the fact is that they've co-ordinated their respective film's schedules to make sure the Big B has the time to shave off and grow back his beard in time for the consecutive shoot.

A short while ago, Mr B shot completely clean-shaven for Balki's Pa. Now he has grown back his beard for Ramu's Rann.

Says Balki, "Ramu and I not only share the Big B's presence in our films, we are also shooting a stone's throw away from each other at Film City.

So there's a lot of give and take between the two units. We're constantly in each other's domain since Mr Bachchan features in both films.

Yes, he shot clean-shaven for me. But then he had a clear two weeks to grow back his beard for Ramu's film. It was planned among us. Hota hai.

Now I'm shooting with Junior (Abhishek) while Ramu is with Senior (Amitabh). It's all quite cool and in the family."

Laughs Balki, "I'm shooting with Abhishek at Subhash Ghai's film school Whistling Woods. Ramu is shooting close by, in Film City, with Amitji. Since I like Ramu and his work I invited him for lunch."

The health-conscious Big B (who features in both director's films) stayed away.
