Amitabh Bachchan and Sunil Shetty are the latest names to be added to Desi Boyz, a Sanjay Dutt production. The title to the David Dhawan comic caper was announced a fortnight back by Dutt and Ajay Devgn. It appears that Sanju is keen to have all those whom he is close to in the industry in his project.
Not only does the actor share a personal rapport with Amitabh Bachchan, the two have even featured together in films like Aladin, Shootout At Lokhandwala, Eklavya and Kaante, among other films.
They also share a common association with the Samajwadi Party and Amar Singh. Sanju was one of the few B-Town folk who was invited for the Abhi-Ash wedding. Bachchan had also made it a point to attend the launch of a book on Sunil and Nargis Dutt in 2007.
On the other hand, Dutt and Shetty's friendship goes back a long way and both have been extremely supportive to each other.
Apparently, Dhawan has decided to start Desi Boyz around October while his long announced sequel to Partner is being pushed forward to next year. Interestingly, Bachchan, Dutt and Devgn had starred in Dhawan's Hum Kisi Se Kam Nahin (2002).
When contacted Dhawan (his voice is as known as his movies!) claimed that he was not Dhawan but Rajan (his aide) and that Dhawan was in Colombo for a film awards event and would be back in Mumbai on June 6.
